Nothing can be achieved alone

They say 'no man is an island'. I could not have achieved or had the strength to carry out many of the things I have without the continual support of my beautiful wife Sushma. Not only has she been a valuable partner in running all the practices, she is also my best friend and confidant. She feeds my creativity and is supportive of all my  ideas. I met her in the third year at Guys Dental Hospital 25 years ago. She hasn't left my side since. We have been married for over 23 years and have two beautiful daughters Twaisha aged 19 and Tiyanna aged 14.

Undergraduate Awards

At University I was awarded the First Prize for 'Dental Material Science'  and also received a Certificate of Merit in 'Dental Public Health'. I also completed an additional intercalated BSc degree in 'Oral Biology and Biochemistry' achieving a First Class Honours.

Postgraduate Hospital Experience

We Both began our practicing careers as House Officers in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. I was at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel  and Sushma was  at the Stafford District General Hospital.

General Practice

We then opened our first dental practice  in 2001. This was followed by more award winning practices over the next 15 years in Brentford, Surbiton and Hounslow. We built up a patient list of over 25,000 patients over 2 decades at our practices all through word of mouth recommendations alone. We were also Vocational Trainers teaching newly qualified Dentists.

.....and now for something completely different

We sold all our practices in  2016 to take a break from being practice principals and enjoy more time with our children. Sushma attended the Eastman MSc Programme in Paediatric Dentistry and achieved a distinction in the first year.

Sushma has been appointed as a Paediatric Clinical Teacher at Kings College Hospital which involves the clinical teaching of undergraduate dental students.

I have recently discovered photography. I got my first professional camera 3 years ago and it has opened up my eyes to a whole new world and has made me look at the world from a new exciting perspective. I have been lucky enough to be chosen to shoot the front covers for the prestigious and acclaimed journal for the British Dental Association. I have completed 11 cover shots for them.

I have also shot 3 cover pages for the up and coming Dental Town Magazine and have featured as a cover story.

I also attended a year course at the Met Film School based at the iconic Ealing Film Studios  on filmmaking. It resulted in me making my first student short movie called 'The Road'. It was selected at several International Film Festivals and won best category for 'Most Inspirational Movie' and ' Best Cinematography'. I am currently working on a feature movie and filmmaking is something I want to improve on and do more of in the future.

I am also the senior clinical lead for Smile Triage which is responsible for the triage of NHS 111 calls for London.

We will also be opening a brand new state of the art practice in 2019 so watch this space.
